Verification Usability Test of Mobile Phone Banking App (2016)
Motivation
Client C (NDA binding), a major regional bank, was developing a new banking application for mobile phones on iOS and Android platforms. The bank was using an iterative, user-centered design process to develop the application and had conducted formative usability studies on early concepts, as well as summative tests of later, mostly-functioning prototypes. Fully functional prototypes for both platforms were ready for verification usability testing and the bank retained User-View for that purpose.
Process
The User-View team recruited mobile banking customers and conducted the verification usability testing on-site at the bank's corporate offices. Testing objectives included verification that most participants could meet successful completion criteria for a range of online banking task, identification of any remaining usability deficiencies.
Outcome
Minor usability deficiencies were identified in time for modification prior to commercial release.
